While it is impossible to try EVERY recipe for a bees wax-based wood wax contrived of in this curious world, we've sure tried A LOT! Dozens and dozens over many years. After all those years we've finally settled on our own preferred formula that we're proud to now offer our customers. We've always loved the weatherproofing and protection provided by natural bees wax, which in pure form is hard like a candle. But for use with axes and other wood-handled tools, it just seems more effective when the mixture is soft enough to work easily and deeply into the wood fibers, particularly using heat during application. Of course, not too soft either! It should also leave a nice, buffable layer behind. Works equally well on leather. Simply apply generously with or without a heat gun and allow wax to soak in for 15-20 min. Wipe away excess and buff with a soft cloth. Repeat as necessary. One 2 oz. can will easily last many seasons. Made in the USA.
