A light, powerful go-to axe for everyday use. The LAMACA Light Forest Axe is a highly versatile camp axe that can handle virtually any job, but is light enough to pack anywhere. New for 2024, we've improved this our most popular axe with a few tweaks to the head design. We used 5 years of testing and feedback from our customers to extend the limits on the amount of chopping power just 2lbs of steel can achieve. We don't want to simply "make axes." We want to make the highest performing axes you can get. The result of these upgrades is a lean and mean mid-sized axe that punches so far above its weight. We'd put it up against any other axe in its weight class in the world without hesitation.
The handle is our own design and is slim, quick and comfortable, perfectly balanced with the weight of the head. No thinning is necessary. Shock absorption is excellent with no compromise in handle strength. As with all our axes, you can choose from two beautiful handle finishes. The traditional light Tung Oil finish, or our proprietary Appalachian Black Walnut dark finish. Believe it or not, It takes a minimum 4 days to achieve this rich, dark finish using our own honest-to-God home made black walnut stain. It's a beautiful and unique finish we are proud to offer.
LAMACA Axes are serial numbered and assigned in order of purchase. As a handmade item, appearance in color, hue, and finish will vary somewhat from piece to piece. Each axe is an individual work and can differ in appearance, but all our axes are crafted with pride and backed by a Lifetime Warranty on manufacturing defects.
